Cyberpunk 2077 - Long waited... Gamers not satisfied

    Cyberpunk 2077 is a table-top, action role-playing video game developed by CD Projekt. Cyberpunk was announced in 2012. The company released series of teasers and posters which attracted gamers. Cyberpunk was presented as a revolutionary video game. The craze, anticipation, and curiosity long waited. It was released after 8 years of the announcement. Finally, Cyberpunk was available to gamers on 10 December 2020! 

Why people were waiting for this game to be released?
The Quality of the game. CD Projekt was known for the quality that is provided in its games and the company didn't support micro-transactions, which is a very good thing. They released a PC game called 'The Witcher' in 2007 which was a huge hit.

Companies like OnePlus started released custom Cyberpunk edition smartphones, XBOX started releasing custom Cyberpunk edition game consoles, custom Cyberpunk PCs were released and the game's teasers and trailers were on YouTube trending page!

But... Cyberpunk 2077 is considered a failure.

So what happened?

The answer is... Software issues. There are random teleportations, graphical glitches, command buffer, etc. To be clear, the game is a buggy mess.

Most of the people bought this game on the last-gen gaming consoles on which the huge game didn't sail through. This mismatch made gamers treat Cyberpunk as a person affected by COVID-19 :)) The game was literally not ready to meet the expectations of the new-gen games! The company canceled early copies of the game to hide it from reviewers because these reviewers would warn people about the graphical glitches. After the release people did notice the bugs and the company's stock price demolished and were crushed by social media. There was also a class-action filed against them! 

Reports say that the developers were told to work day and night to release the game on time. 

But my question is, why 8 years for development?

In my opinion, 8 years for the development of the game is a challenge to hold the gamers, to be with the technology, and to meet the satisfaction of such a long wait.

Some reports also say that the game was hacked. The hackers stole all the data, secret files, info about accounts, and importantly the code of the game. These hackers sold the data.

In a nutshell, Cyberpunk 2077 made the gamers wait with curiosity for 8 years! Expectations changed, hardware revolutionized, entry of competitors and challenges enhanced. CD Projekt didn't address it. We can still play this game but there are glitches/bugs that may interrupt us. CD Projekt is releasing patches to fix the issues, but the whole game is still not fixed :(
