PROBLEM WITH WIRELESS CHARGERS

Wireless charging can be defined as the transfer of power from the charging pad to your device with no interaction of cables.

Qi [Pronounced as 'chee'] is the standard for many wireless chargers. Apple, Samsung, LG are the main companies that support Qi chargers. So not everyone can afford to buy these phones with wireless charging. According to a survey, only about 25% of people use wireless chargers.
The main reason why people are not opting for wireless chargers is that these chargers are very slow compared to wired charging. In an age where wired chargers can provide up to 120W of output these wireless chargers only reach up to 7.5-10W.

These chargers work on the principle of electromagnetic induction, i.e. the magnetic field is created between the charging pad and your device. These chargers use more energy and all the extra energy ends up as heat. As we are all aware that heat is not a battery's good friend. Heat can change the battery's physical structure which eventually decreases its ability to hold the charge. Also, wireless chargers keep your device topped up at 100% which is the exact opposite of what is good for your phone... Yes, don't get me wrong, 100% and 0% are the most imbalanced and high-pressure states to leave your battery in. You can observe that when you boot-up your new phone for the first time, it will be pre-charged to about 50% so that the pressure states of the battery are balanced.

Fact: While wireless charging you cannot text properly, read messages, play games, or take a phone call but with a wire, you can perform all these tasks while plugged in. Also, these wireless chargers have to be plugged in all the time which is not very efficient.

To sum up, wireless chargers are not truly wireless, companies have to figure out a way to truly charge the devices wirelessly. Companies like Xiaomi, PI are getting closer to the concept of air charging which sounds amazing!

I'll accept wireless charging when I can perform tasks on my devices without any hindrance of wires or charging pads.
